Curiosity Made the Cat Smarter
“Stay Curious” – those two simple words have shaped my perspective throughout my life. It’s a mantra that reminds me that even if I can’t fully grasp the nuances of a subject, doesn’t mean I can’t be interested in it. Astrophysics, for example, is an area of science that I find absolutely fascinating. Am I ever going to have a Neil DeGrasse Tyson understanding of it? No. Have I watched every single documentary about the James Webb telescope since it launched? Absolutely. For this inquisitive cat, curiosity isn’t a dangerous game; it’s a path to becoming a smarter, more compassionate individual.
“Stay Curious” encourages us to keep our minds open to new ideas. An open mind allows us to critically evaluate the constant influx of information bombarding us on the daily. The fusion of curiosity and an open mind fosters empathy and a readiness to keep learning.
All Aboard!
Is it just me or is there something about trains that light up a spark of adventure inside you? The possibilities seem endless as you watch landscapes speed by out the window. But what if the train was not just a train? What if it appeared at the station out of nowhere, shrouded in mist? With plumes of smoke puffing from its stacks that you could swear smell like fresh pine trees.
Its passengers step onto the platform in total silence, with secret smiles on their faces. As though they’ve just experienced something so special it defies words. You gather the courage to ask these passengers about their mysterious journey, but they merely exchange knowing smiles and shake their heads. A sense of trepidation rolls through you but you can’t help but wonder what happens in the cars of the enchanted train. Would you purchase a ticket for the mysterious ride? Would curiosity get the better of you when the conductor calls “All Aboard”?
