Are you super excited to have your photo taken but you’re nervous you’re going to make weird faces or stand in an unflattering pose? Well, first of all, I promise you won’t get any weird face photos and I won’t let you stand in poses that aren’t flattering. But, if you’re like me, you like to have a little knowhow before you walk into a new and potentially vulnerable situation; like having your photo taken. So, with that in mind, I’ve put together an easy posing guide that you can keep in mind when you’re working with a photographer.
Easy Posing Tips For New Models
- Click, Click, Change – Change your pose every two clicks of the camera. This way I don’t miss an amazing shot and we don’t end up with ten of the same photo. Don’t feel like you have to make a huge, dramatic change. It can be as simple as tilting your head or changing the position of your hands.
- Keep Your Mind Active – Instead of letting your mind go blank, keep your imagination flowing during the photo-shoot. If you want to look sexy think about a sexy song. If you’re going for whimsical, imagine yourself on a cliffside. Or ask your photographer for a prompt to help get the creativity going.
- Relax Your Mouth and Hands – Portrait painters make entire studies of just human hands in their many forms. If your hands and fingers are relaxed, the whole image will look more natural. Try shaking your hands and wriggling your fingers periodically. Things like swords and wands can make you feel like you need to have a death grip on them. You do want to keep a firm grip (certainly on swords) but try not to white-knuckle them. Don’t be afraid to make a goofy face in between prompts to help you relax!

Their Story
The Winter Spirit was an solitary creature, shrouded in mystery and whispers. As the air grew colder, and the snow blanketed the earth, creating a world of white. And as the winter nights grew longer, the people of the land could feel the Winter Spirit watching over them, a silent guardian of the snow and ice. Though the Spirit remained a mystery, the people took comfort in knowing that it was there, a constant reminder of the magic and wonder of the world.
